This article describes how you can create a connection to a Xero account to allow the import of files using detamoov.
If you have not already done so, you will need to adopt the Xero moov to your account. Click the moovs option in the left-hand menu and then click the ADD button
Expand the Accounting/General Ledger section and select the Xero moov that best fits your file format (Xero uploads can be in either our Standard GL or .IIF tab delimited format).
Then click the Use This Moov button
Once you have adopted the Xero moov you will need to configure your moov level settings.
To set the notification configuration on the moov level, click the cog wheel icon next to the 'Action - Notify' step under the moov steps section on the left and then toggle the 'Use default parameter' option.
Note: these settings are applicable to all clients you configure for the Xero import moov. You also have the ability to override these settings on each of the client's moov configurations.
The notification step allows you to enter:
- a list of email addresses (separated by a comma) where you would like to receive the notification
- a Reply To address
- a Subject and a Body of the email message
Once you have entered the required information, click Save Changes.
By default Xero manual journals will be imported with a status of Posted. If you wish to change this to import the manual journals as Drafts, click the cog icon on the Action Xero Import step and toggle the 'Use default parameter' option.
Another moov level default is receiving the Xero import report via email. This report is sent to all of your users on detamoov. If you wish to have this sent to specific emails, enter in the addresses separating them by a comma.
Once you have made any changes, click Save Changes. You are now ready to set up your client with the Xero moov!
2. Configure a client for the Xero moov
To configure your client with Xero, click the ADD button under the moov configuration section.
For more detailed information on adding a moov configuration for your client, please see our add a moov configuration article.
Once you have created a moov configuration for your client, hover over the client name and click on the icon button to generate the Upload Link for your client.
Copy the Url that appears in the pop-up window
This link can now be sent to your client so they can connect their Xero account to detamoov.
Once the Url you copied is accessed, your client can click the 'Connect to Xero' button to be redirected to the Xero authorization page.
A Xero authorization process will now commence. Your client will then be prompted to login to the Xero account to connect their account to detamoov. If your client has more than one company in Xero, they need to select the appropriate company from the dropdown menu.
Once the authorization is successful your client will be redirected back to detamoov showing the Xero panel in a Connected status.
You are now ready to import .IIF files into the authorized Xero account!
