How to recover your multi-factor authentication

This article covers a situation where you are unable to authenticate using your authenticator app to login to detamoov. Could be that your lost your phone or accidentally removed your authenticator app. 

 

 

You cause use detamoov's recover your MFA by receiving a one-time use recovery key via email.

 

It's helpful to understand that detamoov allows MFA on a user-by-user basis, or on a company level (company level requires all detamoov users use MFA).  The process to re-authenticate after recovering the MFA is different depending on how your MFA was initially created.

 

Once you successfully login to detamoov and are shown the multi-factor authentication screen, you can click the Recover MFA link.

 

 

You will then see the following screen. Check your email for a one time recovery key and enter this key into the Recovery Key field and click Recover.

 

 

If your company requires all employees to use multi-factor authentication, you will be asked to scan a QR code or enter in a manual key into your authenticator app. Note:  You will need to delete the old authentication for this account from your authenticator app before created a new one. Once you have setup a new authentication in your authenticator app, enter the code into the Code field in detamoov to complete the recovery process.

 

If multi-factor authentication is not required for your entire company, you will see the following steps.  Complete these steps to re-authenticate using your authenticator app.

 

  1. Login to detamoov (click OK on the recovery page)
  2. Click on your initials in the top right-hand corner to go to your Profile
  3. Within the Security card of your profile, disable multi-factor authentication
  4. Within the Security card of your profile, re-enable multi-factor authentication
