Adding output override values

Plan Number, Contract Number, Employer ID, Division Number, Location Code - are examples of fields required by some retirement providers which vary based on the employer/plan/contract you're sending them data on. A retirement provider may say:

For Joe's Bakery - the Plan Number is 11111 and Division Number is 03.

For Sam's Deli - the Plan Number is 22222 and Division Number is 01.

For Toystore Inc - the Plan Number is 33333 and Division Number is 02.

Often times, there's no place within payroll to set the values for each client. So what's the best way to handle them through detamoov? Let's examine output overrides.

For every moov configuration, output overrides allow you to override a value for output fields that the moov will generate. Hence the name, output override.

See the screenshot below. In this, we are adding a moov configuration for Joe's Bakery. You'll see the big green "Add Output Override" button on the transformation step. By clicking on this button, we can select the Plan ID field and enter in 11111 for the value.

To set the Division Number, we click the "Add Output Override" button again and this time select the Division Number field and apply the value 03.

Now each time a moov is executed to send Joe's Bakery's 401k contribution data to their provider, 11111 will always be set in the Plan ID field and 03 will always be the Division Number. Here you can see the result of a file transformation from a moov executed for Joe's Bakery:
