There's currently a few ways moovs can be kicked off:
- Upload a file on the detamoov website using the "Upload Files" button
- Configure a SFTP connection to detamoov
One thing that we're often asked is: "can we have our clients upload a file to us and have that kick off a moov?"
So what's the use case for this?
Quite frequently what we hear is time import files. Your client generates a file from a third party time system and needs to import that data into payroll. Unfortunately, the format from the third party time system doesn't match what your payroll system needs so manipulation is required. And today that means human time to manually accomplish this or some crazy Excel macros that only your most tech savvy employees know.
Now you have detamoov and our powerful no-code transformation engine. It takes the human element out and remove the tech savvy needs.
But still the question remains, how can you easily kick off a time import when your client doesn't have access to the "Upload Files" button and has no clue what SFTP is?
The answer: using detamoov's external upload capability!
How does it work?
Each time you configure a client with their own moov configuration, a unique external URL is generated which can be used to kick off that moov. See the image below:
When you click on the link on the client's moov configuration row, you'll see the external URL that can be used to execute the moov.
Simply copy the link and share it with your client. They use that link to upload the third party time system file which will kick off the moov execution! Here's a sample of how that looks to the client.
